Truth or Gay?

How did those dodgeballers end up at a (gasp!) straight bar for their usually pretty gay after parties? That's right the league headed uptown to 123 Burger, Shot, Beer ($2 shots and $3 beers may have helped this cause) and discovered it was straight and there were no hats allowed. What kind of bar doesn't let people where hats, isn't this a free country? Drinks were flowing, and those newbies were flirting shamelessly with the vets, and trust us they didn't mind.

We saw Weeks, Sanchez, Benji, Sergio, and Osada with an interesting mix of newbies pounding shots. While this wouldn't usually raise a red flag, we noticed several of them blushing and getting quite friendly with each other. We can only hope it was a nice game of truth or dare, how very 8th grade of them. Sadly there was no flip cup, but we did see a lot of flirting which is always nice, and by the time midnight rolled around and the burger sliders were being burped up we saw people started getting a little frisky. Although we did come to the conclusion that we think Kelly finally got his wish for his choice of a straight bar after dodgeball and who knew the drinks would be cheaper? xoxo

Keeping It Up

Last night seemed to continue the running theme of the season: it's pretty much anybody's game at this point and when will those dodgeballers stop getting injured? Gym Bar is still tops in the league according to the standings and with four teams very close on their tails, they better start winning. There was a couple of upsets last night, Stonewall lost to The Legally Blondes, XES whooped Pieces, Eastern Bloc beat the first place Gym Bar, and G Lounge took down not only Bamboo 52 but Pieces as well.

There were some fierce showdowns last night on the court from Big Vinny of Splash narrowly catching the ball against Boy Butter, to Niki single handedly taking down the Eastern Bloc team herself in sudden death. There were so many people screaming at the Duplex and Eastern Bloc game we thought we somehow ended up at Jonas Brother concert.

Ice packs may be the new accessory for the league since the beginning of the season people have been getting injured left and right. Dykey Mikey hurt his knee trying to win against XES and Monica hurt her foot, and apparently fixed it herself, playing on the front court. As hurt as they might have been it didn't stop either of them from heading to the bar afterwards. xoxo

Talking About Tyra

Well it looks like the league may have it's very own Carrie Bradshaw. One of our new favorite newbies of the season, Brian B, apparently forgot to tell us that he is in cahoots with the legendary Tyra Banks.

One of our spies emailed us a link to what looked like just another gay blog, and to our surprise it was a video blog that talked about two of our favorite things: dodgeball and sex. Carrie 2.0 has a blog about being a gay man for the Tyra Banks Show, and we think it's totally hilarious. He even has a slew of special guest stars from BAD! adding their two cents on the subject.

Check it out here. xoxo

Hot Dogs

We are calling it right now, we think the WOOF! team may take the title for hottest team in the league this season. What do you think? Are we barking up the wrong tree? xoxo

After Party 3-30

Looks like those dodgeballers are going to be heading uptown tonight for the post play fun. 123 Burger Shot Beer (738 10th Avenue at 51st Street) is in good ol' Hells Kitchen and we wonder how you could possibly go wrong with $1 burgers, $2 shots, and $3 beers. We hear the $30 beer tubes go a long way as well.

Since it's spring-ish flip cup and beer pong will be had out on the back deck. We guess it's time to get back into nature. xoxo

Caught Red Handed

We totally called it from the start! After creeping on Facebook we stumbled upon some pictures of the ladies and their alternative after party at Cubbyhole. It looks like they were having fun, except we are confused at why it looks like a Lifetime movie is playing on the TV behind them (is that you Eva LA Rue?). The usual cast of characters were in attendance: Niki, Jess, Tarah, Bex, Dykey Mikey, Robin, etc. We just don't understand what they have against WOOF! Oh perhaps it's the bear daddies in leather harnesses?

Maybe we should start going to the alternative after parties that the lovely ladies of dodgeball go to because it looks like they are having more fun than the boys! Our favorite part of the triple kiss picture is Bex's face. It is a combination of shock and awe, and we couldn't agree more. xoxo

I Ain't One To Gossip 3-27

Which popular veterans got very cozy at the after after party on Monday? We suspect they had a little liquid courage to intitate the makeout session, but we guess it was their mutual love of playing with balls that really helped them to bond. xoxo

Woofing It Down

So as we head into week 5, it looks like Gym Bar continues to dominate the league, see here. We could assume the large amount of veterans on the team might be an advantage in this newbie filled league, but we are sure the power arm combo of Kelly and Sanchez certainly doesn't hurt either. Speaking of hurt, why was everyone getting injured on Monday? First we saw James the Gym Teacher hurt his ankle in open play, and then we saw Dennis's finger get broken playing for Pets at Play. It's a league of hurt we tell you.

After the games the dodgeballers headed over to WOOF! for some much needed flip cup and $2 drafts. The flip cup was flying, as well as the peanuts (courtesy of Leven). We swear we haven't seen so many soggy nuts since the Black Party. Speaking of Leven he was getting quite cozy with a group of bears that were rather grabby, and we saw the biggest smile on his face that wouldn't stop. Eventually his smile faded when there was a heated exchange between Hank 2.0 ensued. We don't know what was said, but it didn't look pretty.

What did look pretty was when newbie Brian decided to start his flip cup game by swapping shirts with a fellow who's name we never caught. Who knew that boy was stacking under that Eagle jersey? We think it's a fantastic way to start our next game as well. We have never laughed harder than when we saw Vinny, who was sitting in a fragile chair, crash to the floor because Dom sat on his lap. Who knew those two could bend metal with their asses?

After WOOF! the after after party headed to Barracuda where some smooching started and some pouting happened. The pout was courtesy of a very somber Monica who apparently lost both of her games earlier. Honey we all like to win, but don't be Pouty McPouterson when you lose. There is always next week!

We didn't see any of our usual lovely ladies at WOOF! which makes us think there was an alternative after party. We hear the Cubbyhole is to blame, but then again who can blame the ladies for trying to get their dance on? The boys may like their flip cup, but we know those ladies sure love to dance. xoxo

Spotted: Minty Fresh

If we have said it once, we have said it a thousand times, the after after parties on Mondays are always the best part of the night. For example, which popular veteran was seen getting "frisked" by drag sensation Peppermint at Barracuda (after ditching Woof!) on Monday? It was a total drag he didn't have to lip synch for his life. xoxo

Spotted: Black Party

It seems like a lot of the dodgeballers came out for the infamous and dirty Black Party on Saturday, but one newbie in particular caught our eye, and a spanking! It seems he was quite the "whipping post" to several of the shirtless men in harnesses at the party by literally giving them a whip and telling them to have their way with him. He took quite the beating and loved every pain filled minute of it. xoxo

Big Bad Woof!

Tonight the after party festivities will be taking place at View Bar (232 8th Ave at 22nd Street). The party is WOOF! and if history repeats itself (and we sure the hell hope it does) Thom will be shirtless by the night's end. With $2 Buds + $3 MGD cans and the promise of flip cup, how can you go wrong? xoxo

Spotted: Flip Cup Frenzy

Which two dodgeballers were caught canoodling at last night's flip cup festivities at Gym Bar? We can only assume the game was the warmup. xoxo

I Ain't One To Gossip 3-20

Which dodgeballer should really stick to the drinking at the after parties? His frequent trips to the bathroom, runny nose, and erratic behavior are totally not cute. xoxo

Played Dodgeball Lately?

Looks like those dodgeballers aren't the only ones who are crazy about the sport. One of our readers sent in this quite amusing video of the Chelsea Handler Show and her obsession with dodgeball. She does have a point though, you can't get hurt in dodgeball unless you are a p-u-s-s-y. Better watch out Monica, looks like she totally stole your two handed throw. xoxo

Flipping Out

So we think that BAD! is getting into the flip cup spirit tonight at GYM Bar (167 8th Ave at 18th). Lockerroom, which is located downstairs, on Thursdays after 8 pm host a weekly tournament those dodgeballers know all too well. And NO, we aren't talking about Strip Cup, but then again doesn't it always get a little dirty by the end? xoxo

I Ain't One To Gossip 3-18

Which not so single vet has been quietly hooking up with some of the boys in the league on the side? He may look like an innocent chickadee on the court, but off the court we hear he's one dirty bird. xoxo

It's Anyone's Game

Last night was proof that it's anyone's game this season as the undefeated Eastern Bloc and second place Stonewall took a tumble by losing both of their matches. This was just the thing Gym Bar needed to take over the score board and come out on top. All of the top teams are currently tied for winning 6 matches, but it's the games that count! At this stage in the game, Gym Bar has a good lead on it's competition, Eastern Bloc, Pieces, Bamboo 52, and Carraway & Sciacca, who are all neck and neck for first. See for yourself here.

That being said, we think the teams have finally decided to bring their A -Game and try to win. We saw several underdog teams finally start stepping up to the plate, making it a VERY interesting season. Also making it more interesting is some of the team flair on the court. We don't know how Gym Bar does it, but they play in wigs. Yes, we never thought it would come to this, but if Kelly can still throw hard and look fierce doing it, hats off to him!

Last season it was socks, this season headware seem to be the team flair to wear. We saw pink banadanas on Carraway & Sciacca, blue bandanas on Pieces, "Angry Beaver" headbands on Henrietta Hudson's (how terribly ironic), bedazzled white karate headbands on Eastern Bloc, smiley face headbands (how very Watchmen) on G Lounge, dark hats on Besspots, and yellow do-rags on the Boy Butter team (cheers for making gay look so thug).

We will give props where props are deserved and give a shout out to the Eagle team who managed to have their shirts altered in different designs using small metal holes. Everyone's shirt is different, and we could see them totally wearing them out after. Also Pets at Play did some altering to their shirts, with interesting results. Adding a little color to white shirts definitely helped.

After the games people headed uptown to Splash Bar for some two for one drinks after party fun, only to realize it was Musical Mondays. It definitely made for a different kind of post play afterparty. When we saw Sergio and some newbies singing along at the tops of their lungs, we were happy to see there were some dodgeballers who were secretly theater queens in the league. All in all it was a nice change of pace. We are sure the after after party at Woof! was a little bit more of our pace, but as you know a change will do you good. xoxo

Overheard 3-16

"This is a drinking league with a dodgeball problem."
- Paul the Commissioner kidding about the shenanigans of BAD! to some newbies, or was he? xoxo

Wet and Wild

Post-play action tonight will be at Splash (50 W. 17th Street between 5th and 6th Ave). Happy hour will be extended to 11pm IF you bring your gym ID, so don't be a slacker and forget it.

Finally someone at BAD! must have heard our prayers. Those dodgeballers are sooooo last minute, but not any more. Someone finally just got organized and made a page for all of the social events BAD! has set up. BAD! social events.

Lastly, we think someone may be invading on our territory. A *real* photographer will be at the gym tonight, but lucky for him he's only shooting the actual playing of the games (how terribly boring). He better leave the after parties to us, because he may know photography, but we know drama. xoxo

Separated at Birth?

Are there twins in the dodgeball league? We thought we were seeing double at the bar, and apparently we were! These two look more like each other than Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen do, only hairier. xoxo

Party Crashing: Jew-topia

Two of our favorite hairy dodgeballers are hosting a party tonight, and there is free manischewitz? Consider us converted. xoxo

Say What?

We can't tell if James the Gym teacher is in pain or pleasure, so please help us and caption this. xoxo

The Gloves Are Off!

There were a couple beatdowns last night that happened, and we are still kinda shocked what went down. Let's get to the on the court beatdown which was brought by the still undefeated Eastern Bloc team. Three weeks in a row they have won all of their matches to take first in the league, but they better watch out because Stonewall is right on their tail. Both of the teams are fighting mad, and both won 5 out of 6 games, but Stonewall is still beating them game-wise. All it takes is for one slip-up and we may just have a tie for first.

While we know we are totally in a recession, times are tough, no one has any money, etc etc, we sure do love those dodgeballers love to get the most out of their Tony Dapolito gym membership. That bike looks like the perfect place to gaze at the cute newbies this season.

We headed over to Stonewall for some flip cup and fun. While the flip cup was in full effect, it was an altercation that looks like it came out of an episode of Rock of Love that really got us scratching our heads. Imagine one minute you are dancing with Kelly while he shows off his white boy dance moves, then the next minute you are scrambling out of the way of hair pulling, name calling, and a what, a what, a girlfight.

Yup, just when you thought BAD! couldn't get any more crazy, leave it to the girls to really shake things up. We don't know specifics of the fight, or who even started it, but what we do know is there is an all love, no hate policy in BAD! Let's hope the two girls kissed and made up, otherwise count on some majah tension on the court when the two play each other in the coming weeks.

After the altercation, we continued to salsa dance with Eduardo, double dutch with Leven (who brings a jump rope to dodgeball?), and we were introduced to a new game from James the Gym teacher. He started a little game of spin the bottle, but if the bottle lands on you, you have to dance with the person instead of kiss them. There were definately some interesting partners, and all in all some people got down and dirty.

While we grabbed our coats and headed home from another exciting evening at BAD!, we happened to walk by two guys who were getting hot and heavy by the bathrooms. It reiterated the all love, no hate policy in the league and our own personal policy here at gossipgays. Make love, not bar fights. xoxo

After Party Tonight

After BAD! tonight the boys and girls will be getting their flip-cup on at Stonewall. When there are drink specials involved, count us in! 3 Bud Lights for $10. Hey who doesn't love a good drink special? xoxo

America's Next Top Model

We spotted a familiar face in Next Magazine this weekend. Joe Oppedisano rounded up a cast of gods and monsters for a fetish fashion shoot, and we couldn't help but notice one of the models was Benji! While we know Tyra taught him to smile with his eyes, Benji totally surprised us with his inner Heidi Klum. We had no idea there was a model behind the mustache. xoxo

Spring Has Sprung.

What did one snowman say to the other?

Smells like carrots.

Don't forget to set your clocks ahead on Sunday, because spring is here bitches! xoxo.

Spotted: Scared Straight

We don't know what was in the drinks at Cubbyhole on Monday, but our spies report some frisky behavior went down and some very interesting pairings happened. Do we sense a new trend for this season? xoxo

Case of the Missing After Party

In it's second week of play, albeit snowy winter play, most of league showed up for BAD! on Monday, and the games were intense. Eastern Bloc won both of their games again making them the team to beat in the competition this season. According to the stats, they are in first, but they haven't won the most games out of the league. Stonewall and Gym Bar have won 9 out 12, while Eastern Bloc has only won 8 out of 12. Although they have won more matches, which we think means more than winning more of the games.

Whatever place they are in didn't matter as we tried to steer clear on Monica in the open play, because girl looked like she was going to take off someone's head, and poor Lori looked like a deer in headlights as the last player standing against her in open play. We did see some new team flair, and we are loving it. Legally Blondes had pink bandanas and pink socks (BTW we loved Gilbride giving us full drag with the wig and vintage pink jacket), Henrietta's had some nifty green socks, Splash looked like they were going to war with the red face paint, and Eastern Bloc had some bedazzled headbands. All in all, the season is just beginning.

So we headed to G Lounge, and while we didn't quite get our flip cup fill, we did enjoy some tasty mixed drinks for once at after party. Although we felt like the place was a tad empty. I mean we loved that some of the after party favorites like Sergio, PTW, Endre, and Benji were there to mingle with, and we love that we spotted a newbie from Pieces with a shaved head macking it hardcore with the boys for a second week in a row, we just felt like more people would have come. All in all, we blamed it on the snow, until we stumbled upon some pictures from the night.

We are a little confused, was there an after-after party we weren't invited to, or was this an alternative after party headed up by some the ladies in the league? Granted we did the Cubbyhole several times last season, and it was really fun, but why would people go there instead of G Lounge? Also we could swear we some people in the photos who were definately at G, so are there dueling after parties after dodgeball now?

Whatever the case may be, we better make sure to keep our ears open at the dodgeball court and find out where the real after party is going to be. After all, if there is an after party, and we aren't there to crash it, was it worth going to? xoxo
